About Kiowa Rose

A unique Victorian-style bead shop with an extensive beadwork gallery.

• Located in the historic district of Niles, in Fremont, California, Kiowa Rose is not your ordinary bead shop. Nestled amongst the antique shops and restaurants of this lovely area, Kiowa Rose Beads and Supplies stands out as something special - and that's from the outside. Once you set foot within the store, you realize you've found that perfect combination of Art Nouveau and modern beading.
• Rosie Long, proprietress of this fine establishment, has been creating works of beaded art for thirty-five years. Her store reflects this deep love of art, and it provides a source of beads and supplies to match no other. Every wall, every surface of the store is utilized to display beaded works and beads for sale - all shapes, sizes and colors are to be found here. Antique sideboards, dressers, cupboards and display cases are all utilized to showcase beads and bead projects - and row upon row of tubes of seed beads and strands of Czech glass beads festoon the walls, sorted by color and style.

Summer Garden Party! We will have a monthly Garden Party on the Second Saturday of each Summer month from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm, starting in June. For a $25 sitting fee we will provide projects, treats and lots of fun! Advance registration required.

Birds of a Feather! Birds of a Feather has added an additional night beginning in March! We will be holding Birds twice a month on the first and third Fridays from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm. For a $10 sitting fee we will provide pizza and drinks and lots of fun! Bring in your unfinished work, show and tell, inspirations or start something fresh. Advance registration required.

Private Classes! Private Classes are offered at Kiowa Rose. If you are interested in one on one , just you and your friends, or trying to accommodate a hectic schedule we may be able to assist you with private/ or semi private arrangements. There is a 2 hour minimum per visit. Call during business hours for more information.

New Seed Beads! More than 100 new colors of seed beads are being incorporated into the stock in the store over this month. Come and check out this truly lovely assortment - just in time for your next project!

Trunk Shows!

• Grace Lampwork Trunk Show May 23rd & 24th 11am - 5pm   In case you missed the trunk show in February (or even if you didn't!), Grace joins us again. Come oohh and ahhh at Grace's lovely lampwork! The selection is extensive and impossible to resist!
• Vintage Lucite June 13th and 14thVintage Lucite June 13th & 14th   If you love old beads like we love old beads you will want to check out the Vintage Lucite trunk show! Most of the inventory for this show is comprised of pre 1970's Lucite~ these beads are ‘lathe-turned' therefore, you will not see seems from being pressed in a mold. The mix of vintage Lucite with heavier beads is a stunning combination that in the end is much lighter weight for showing off your goods!
• Stars Clasps June 13th through June 21stStars Clasps June 13th - 21st    Come one come all for an amazing presentation of extraordinary clasps! Our friends at Stars clasps have put together a unique selection (only available at special showings) including crystal centers, stone set and button clasps. The Stars show will run until June 21st.
• Monty Clark and Carol Fonda Trunk ShowMonty Clark & Carol Fonda Trunk Show June 27th & 28th, 11 am - 5 pm   This team has taken Dichroic glass to an elegant level! Flowers, sprites, angels, fish what every your focal interest, you are sure to be enchanted. Join us for a special show of their work!
• Unicorne Beads Trunk Show July 11thUnicorne Beads Trunk Show July 11th 10:30am - 5pm   A passion for bead making is reflected in these ultra amazing borosilicate glass beads! Innovative designs, unusual shapes, and rich colors are the hallmark of Unicorne Beads. Join us for a trunk show featuring Unicorne Beads.
• Bella Venetian Beads Trunk Show July 25th - August 2ndBella Venetian Beads Trunk Show July 25th 10:30am - 5pm   Bella means beautiful in Italian! Venetian beads are intended to dazzle the eye and often are lavishly decorated. Bella Venetian hand makes each bead using vibrant colors that glimmer beneath 24kt gold or .999 silver foils. These beads are no imitation and nothing short of spectacular! This show will run through August 2nd.
